9th January 2025 – (Tokyo) A serious construction accident occurred at a building undergoing demolition near JR Chiba Station, Japan, when the ceiling on the second floor unexpectedly collapsed. This incident trapped three workers beneath the debris. Unfortunately, one man in his seventies was found without vital signs and has been rushed to hospital.
According to reports from NHK, the incident took place in a densely built area approximately 200 meters east of JR Chiba Station. Local officials confirmed that the sudden ceiling collapse left three workers on the ground floor buried under rubble.
Rescue teams are still working to extract the remaining trapped individuals. At present, a man in his thirties has been sent to the hospital with injuries that remain unspecified. Firefighters are facing challenges in their rescue efforts due to the close proximity of surrounding buildings, necessitating the use of cutting tools to remove obstacles.
