16th January 2025 – (Hong Kong) A traffic incident involving police vehicles occurred in Sheung Shui at around 3.05pm. A police motorcycle and a police car were travelling along the Fanling Highway towards North District Hospital when they collided at a roundabout on Sau Kung Po Road. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Dashcam footage of the incident reveals that the police car was following closely behind the motorcycle. As the motorcycle began to move forward, it abruptly stopped, leading to the following police car being unable to brake in time and colliding into its rear. The impact caused the traffic officer on the motorcycle to fall to the ground, where he was seen kneeling and holding his waist in apparent pain.
After the collision, the traffic officer appeared to be in distress, clutching his waist while other officers promptly exited the police vehicle to check on their colleague’s condition. The footage captures the moment of the incident, highlighting the challenges faced by law enforcement on the roads.
