19th January 2025 – (Hong Kong) In a much-discussed appearance at the lavish wedding of Christopher Cheng, son of prominent entrepreneur Henry Cheng, 66-year-old Patrick Ma Ching-hang, chairman of Tai Sang Bank, was accompanied by his long-term mistress, 34-year-old internet personality Rachel Chung. Their relationship, which has reportedly spanned nearly a decade, has become something of an open secret within Hong Kong’s elite circles.
Chung, who has frequently referred to Ma on social media as Rich Man A, has openly acknowledged her role as a mistress, revealing that she was aware of Ma’s marital status from the outset. This admission has not deterred her from embracing her position within the social elite, as she has often portrayed herself as a “young lady” and “wealthy wife” in her online content. Ma, who comes from a distinguished family with roots as one of Hong Kong’s “Five Great Tycoons” of the 1960s, has maintained a low profile regarding his personal life. Married for over three decades, he has rarely mentioned his wife, Kung Lin-chi, and has faced challenges balancing his professional commitments with family life.
