5th January 2025 – (Singapore) Early on Sunday morning, about 35 residents were evacuated following a fire that broke out in a vacant three-story semi-detached house on East Coast Road in eastern Singapore. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received the emergency alert at approximately 12.45am
Firefighters from both Kallang Fire Station and Paya Lebar Fire Station responded swiftly to the scene, where they found the first floor of the building ablaze, with flames rapidly spreading to the upper levels. The fire was successfully extinguished by around 3am, although the upper floors sustained significant smoke and burn damage. An adjacent unit also experienced some impact from the blaze.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident. As a precaution, about 35 residents from nearby properties were evacuated.
